Here is a fantastic but sad article about the declining state of radio.
The sad part is, it would be so very simple to fix. Click here
Jacobs Media just released a new survey of 27,000 people (exactly ?) that states
that podcast listening has increased 87% year to year. (what year to what year ?)
Here is the link to the survey Click Here
It’s hard to believe all these podcasting surveys because they are all so
different in their findings.
One day I hope they have a single company that conducts podcasting
surveys that the podcasting community can believe.

I am asked that question all the time, what computer
would I purchase for doing audio work. I edit several
podcasts each week. And have edited audio
since 1977, when we used grease pencils and razor blades
(now that’s old school !).
If I was purchasing a computer today for audio work
it would be from Rain Recording.
Why ?
Because they have a great reputation and build machines specifically for
audio.
In the past I have built every machine that I have used since
1992. Before that I used Amiga computers for audio and video work.
I have probably built about 30 computers from scratch, some for friends
and others for business.
Ordering each single component from the case down to the floppy drive.
You still run the risk of ending up with a defective component and have to deal
with each piece individually if you encounter problems when building a machine.
By the time you add up all the shipping cost from individual companies for the
components, the time involved in building the machine (usually a couple of good 8 hour days for me)
it makes more since to order a machine that is created by a company that does it day in and day out,
and that machine is produced for the specific type of work you do, audio.
Sure you can use lots of different computers to edit audio. But when you want a system designed specifically
for the job, that’s what Rain Recording does.
So if you’re looking into purchasing a machine for audio work, I would suggest looking at Rain Recording - Click Here.

Dave Phillips from Linux Journal has a great article called “The Sound of Linux”
In this article I’ve selected what I consider to be some of the past year’s outstanding achievements in the world of Linux music and sound software. It’s not really a “Best Of 2007″, it’s just my personal choices for what I found most interesting and significant in the past year.
Fervent Software are thrilled to announce the immediate availability of Studio to Go! v2.0.
The Studio to Go! software series provides a complete introduction to the amazing world of Linux Audio and features a integrated audio and compositional environment on a single bootable disk. The new 2.0 release includes many usability improvements that add up to make this the most complete and best-integrated release yet of the original and finest Linux Audio bootable CD distribution.
Studio to Go! v2.0 provides the latest and greatest Linux Audio applications including the very latest Rosegarden sequencer, as well as brand new support for many Firewire cards, synchronised Video support for soundtrack composition and an enhanced list of soft synths and software samplers.
